She is the President of her Girl Up club at her high school and is one of the two co-leaders for the Upstate NY Girl Up Coalition. She is a traveler, a runner, and an enthusiastic watcher of Netflix. Sophie enjoys advocating for women’s rights, and other human rights by involving herself in clubs such as Girl Up, and working hard to bring attention to modern social issues in Washington D.C. She is proficient in Spanish and has traveled to Nicaragua and Bolivia, where she was able to see the life changing positive impact that an education has on a girl. Sophie is constantly inspired by the work Girl Up does and how so many young people internationally strive to achieve that. She loves the supportive, positive, and empowering environment that Girl Up creates for all those involved, and works to create that same environment within the Upstate NY Coalition.
